The San Francisco office has an immediate opening for a Managing Supervisor to join us in a hybrid role in our rapidly expanding corporate affairs practice. This position is ideal for a big-picture thinker who is energized by serving as a strategic consultant while also embracing the research, writing, and media relations work required to help our clients navigate through the modern moment. Requirements

  • 6-8 years of PR or communications agency experience across corporate affairs remits, with a passion for understanding a client’s business, strong analytical abilities, and demonstrated creative and critical thinking.
  • Strong passion and understanding for media relations with a proven track record of building meaningful relationships with journalists across enterprise business media.
  • Solid experience across multiple dimensions of modern communications. Understanding of how integrated campaigns drive consistent results beyond just headlines. Experience creating and executing communications campaigns that drive to a consistent takeaway across owned, earned, social, and paid amplification channels.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including team coordination, managing direct reports, project management, and maintaining quality and composure under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to leverage data and research to inform strategic decisions. Experience working with research and insights teams to interpret data, trends, and metrics that inform client strategy, stakeholder engagement priorities, and communications recommendations grounded in evidence.
  • Polished written and verbal communication skills with ability to develop strategic plans, client presentations, talking points, and executive communications. Comfortable presenting recommendations and winning internal and client support for strategic direction.
  • Self-motivated strategic thinker and resourceful problem solver. Balances attention to both client relationships and strategic opportunity identification.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic communications strategies clients, helping them build stakeholder confidence and drive to a position in the marketplace.
  • Lead and manage media relationship building efforts, establishing strong connections with journalists across business media while developing the team's media relations capabilities.
  • Collaborate with senior strategists and lead your team of account managers to develop integrated strategic positioning and authentic corporate narratives that resonate across investors, employees, policymakers, and society.
  • Manage key client relationships, challenging assumptions, synthesizing market research and stakeholder insights, and guiding clients toward effective strategies. Mentor team members in strategic thinking and client management while ensuring successful campaign execution.
  • Develop strategic messaging frameworks and storytelling approaches that translate complex issues into clear, differentiated positioning for multiple stakeholder audiences—helping clients understand and communicate the "why" behind their strategy with integrity and clarity.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to recommend and execute integrated communications solutions—traditional PR, digital, social media, investor relations, employee communications, and more—that align behind a cohesive strategic narrative.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive dynamics to identify positioning opportunities; help clients understand their competitive landscape and develop proactive communications strategies to address challenges and build market advantage.
  • Run teams around key moments in time, including earnings, events, etc.
  • Identify account growth and expansion opportunities by taking a strategic view of client stakeholder landscapes and recommending how integrated communications can strengthen relationships and business outcomes—from M&A support to talent acquisition to investor confidence to regulatory navigation.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports through coaching, feedback, and professional development. Foster a high-performing team that maintains quality standards and meets deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
