About The Position

FleishmanHillard, a global communications agency, has an immediate opening for a Managing Supervisor to serve as an influencer and social media specialist for our Health & Life Sciences practice. This position provides a fantastic opportunity for a passionate proactive communications professional with strong communications and influencer strategy to be a part of a collaborative team across a range of healthcare clients. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in executing best-in-class work across growing accounts and have pharmaceutical or healthcare communications experience. This candidate will be capable envisioning, translating and incorporating influencer relations strategies into larger integrated communications programs including activation both online and offline, with influencers of all types and tiers. This candidate understands the responsibility and opportunity in healthcare influence—understanding that creators and influential voices play an important role in how people understand, access and advocate for their health. Our new team member will work with integrated teams across the firm to use influence to meet client objectives and grow revenue. Requirements

  • Candidates should have a minimum of 5-7 years of integrated marketing and/or communications experience at an agency or internal, working with healthcare, pharma, biotech, personal health or related accounts, including 3-5 years of hands-on influencer program strategy and execution.
  • Demonstrated success in influencer relations program management: leading strategic planning, identifying data-led insights, program development, research, identification, vetting, relationship management, measurement and analysis. Use of various influencer vetting and reporting tools required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting: Must be a consummate team player who brings a passionate, positive, high-energy approach to client service and delivering results. Ideal candidate should possess excellent relationship skills; incredibly strong attention to detail; be a good listener; respect the expertise of others; and have ability to motivate and generate effective action from all levels of the organization. Candidate must have a spirit of continuous learning and curiosity.
  • Intermediate integrated communications program development experience: Genuine curiosity and interest in using influence to move audiences from awareness to engagement to action across a mix of communications platforms. The ideal candidate is able to articulate the agency’s point of view on healthcare influencer relations approach and apply strategies that meet clients’ goals and objectives. Understanding of the role of owned, earned and paid media in an integrated communications or marketing plan and how influential voices best fit into it.
  • Content planning and storytelling experience: Experience translating complex health information into relatable, sharable social narratives that drive cultural conversations. Ability to plan and coordinate influencer-created content across a brand’s communication approach and collaborate closely with third parties to bring that content to life.
  • Industry thought-leadership and creativity: Stay ahead of trends, emerging platforms and be a creative thinker with a passion for innovation.
  • Understanding of various filters and benchmarks that make someone influential for a given brand, therapeutic area, category or sector.
  • Including the ability to differentiate and engage multiple influencer types: celebrity, content creators, HCPs and wellness practitioners, and patient advocates.
  • Vetting criteria specific to healthcare: medical credentials, board certification, treatment verification, etc.
  • Ability to give strategic direction to influencers whether organic, earned or sponsored and proven ability to collaborate with agency team, clients and influencers/their agents to ultimately produce high-performing content.
  • Strong understanding of industry regulatory and promotional rules: Must understand the disclosure guidelines as set by the FTC and FDA, and transparency requirements (e.g. Physician Payments Sunshine Laws) to provide sound counsel to clients and influencers.
  • Strong negotiation ability to achieve highest and best value exchange between client and influencer, and to manage other junior colleagues executing this process.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills necessary to best manage process of influencer contracting/legal, invoicing/financial execution, and data collection related to influencer audience and post-specific metrics.
  • Expertise in managing paid social programs. Understanding of paid social landscape including experience developing strategy and optimizing paid social programs related to amplifying and/or allow-listing influencer-created content.
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics: Candidate must be well versed in reporting and analysis best practices. Showcase ability to translate facts to insights to determine success and provide optimization recommendations.
  • Ability to navigate complex healthcare organizational structures: Foundational knowledge of healthcare marketing guidelines and compliance requirements.
  • New business hunter: Candidate should have enthusiasm for mining and pitching new clients and demonstrated experience in growing revenue.
  • Ability to engage with and counsel senior level decision-makers across the client’s business, and deliver connective insights to assist clients in driving alignment and execution of cross-company initiatives. Candidate should have experience building relationships and working with diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Owns the development of team workflows, materials and best practices: Helps build internal and client team workflows, optimizes team operations and actively manages and mentors junior team members.
  • Thrives working in a fast-paced, dynamic landscape with ongoing program updates, new deliverable requests and always delivering flawless execution from planning to execution to reporting.
