About The Position

JOB PURPOSE:

Perform set up and weld on a repetitive line of standard weldments and structures in accordance with alignment, dimensional, and general inspection requirements.

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units.
• Proficient in GMAW welding on mild steel materials.
• Initiative.
• Adaptability.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Problem analysis and problem-solving.
• Listening skills.
• Communication skills- verbal and written.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs on a continuous basis.
• Ability to pass and maintain all weld tests required to perform job duties.
• Ability to accurately read and follow blueprints.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Blueprint reading and measuring equipment experience required
• Minimum of 6 months experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints to determine specific placement of welds.
• Bolts, clamps and tack-welds parts to secure in position of welding.
• Ability to use fixtures when needed.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts, using GMAW welding equipment.
• Follows all required SOP’s.
• Some grinding and finishing work.
• Alerts supervisor or team leader of any quality issues.
• Maintains accurate count of parts produced.
