As the Manufacturing Engineering A at PennEngineering, you’ll collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things. This position is responsible and accountable for the design and support of product, processes, and tooling. Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of five years’ Engineering design and/or Manufacturing Engineering experience is preferred.
  • Experienced using CAD software, preferably Creo/ProE
  • Proven project leadership ability and successful record of completing engineering assignments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and build rapport with individuals at all levels of the company.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including - Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft suites - Excel, & inventory systems)
  • Time management and multitasking
  • Clear communication with operations teams
  • Problem-solving and proactive planning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate a computer and related office equipment.
  • Visual acuity is suitable for detailed work

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the various techniques and materials used in manufacturing mechanical fasteners is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain key process, product, and tooling design knowledge to support production departments in the absence of assigned lead engineer.
  • Managing assigned capital projects from initial theory to final implementation, which includes establishing the project team and facilitating project meetings.
  • Maintaining knowledge of industry specific design and process standards to support the development of new processes and/or components being transitioned from other facilities.
  • Fostering process innovation and modernization culture, as well as support department specific projects derived from all applicable continuous improvement activities.
  • Working in a team environment to ensure that all engineering deliverables are completed from quotation to delivery in a manner that meets or exceeds the customer’s requirements.
  • Engineering deliverables include the creation of: product design routers BOM's tooling design process specifications.)
  • Support the quoting activities within the team and group. This includes working with the engineering representatives and/or customers to satisfy their application needs. Ensure that all quotes are completed accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Providing technical support for customer inquiries by coordinating testing, writing reports, and visiting customers as required.
  • Providing technical support for internal customers (i.e. manufacturing, quality, sales) by evaluating problems, making recommendations for improvement, and implementing corrective action.
  • Acting as a project leader for customer specific product development projects and/or productivity improvement projects by leading a project team through scheduled development activities.
  • Shall be an integral part of the assigned Engineering team providing customers, both internal and external, with quality product within the required time.
  • Participate in team activities and work to meet the goals of the team with the needs of the customer in mind. Frequent coordination and cooperation with other departments, including Manufacturing, Quality, PIC, Purchasing, Sales, and Accounting is required to meet these goals.
  • Shall represent the company in meetings with customers and suppliers as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
