See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Position Overview: The Manufacturing Engineer III is responsible for improving products and manufacturing processes through the innovative use of new technologies, including materials, tooling, automation, production methods, and information technology. This role is considered a senior-level position and may include supervising a small team of salaried personnel. As part of the talented Boston Whaler team, this position plays a key role in driving process improvements and advancing manufacturing capabilities. Essential Functions: Provide daily guidance for Engineers and ME Technicians to support current production or New Product Integration. Design and develop custom manufacturing test equipment and automated production systems Work with Operations and Quality to support daily production Participate in High Performance Teams as support to engineers to achieve SQDP goals Participate in GEMBA Walks Create innovative solutions to increase manufacturing throughput and built in quality Identify projects that support the Safety, financial and quality goals of Boston Whaler Participate in Line Balancing events to support dynamic production schedules. Support the ECN and deviation processes Integrate PFMEA process Manage current tooling and processes Utilize Six Sigma Methods to increase productivity and reduce costs Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate problem solving, team, and interpersonal skills used to influence others to accomplish identified objectives
  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products
  • Support production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • PLC Programming and debugging in a production environment
  • NMEA Network Experience
  • Experience integrating RFID, barcode systems, or vision systems
  • Interface with design engineering to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • 7-10 Years of Manufacturing Engineering at Focus Factory Level
  • Tool Design
  • Print Standards
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt
  • APQP Standards (PFMEA, Control Plan, JES)
  • Ability to utilize basic metrology tools
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proven self-starter
  • Shop floor working environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Material Science or Equivalent Experience.
  • Shop Floor Environment
  • Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching
  • Moderate lifting ability up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (may be above 100 ambient degrees or below 10 ambient degrees in areas of production)
  • Ability to work in a fiberglass dust environment and a fast paced, noisy environment
  • Ability to work overtime (planned and unplanned)
