We boldly go. The Process Controls Engineer will develop, support, and implement Clarksville site controls projects. They will support new product launches, VA/VE projects, and day to day controls support. In addition to these items this position will be especially focused on supporting plant controls upgrades to meet Safety, Quality, and productivity requirements. The Process Controls Engineer will work with controls centers, safety applications involving lasers, light curtains, mats and relays, PLC’s, leak test processes, evacuation and refrigerant charging systems. Many of these systems include distribution piping, pumps, valves, and tanks. The Process Controls engineer will also need to be proficient in project management in order to complete work on time, on budget and with outstanding results.

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in engineering field from an ABET accredited program preferred, other degrees considered on an exception basis
  • Software development (VB.net, C#, AutoCad, Creo, PLC experience)
  • Database administration (Access, Oracle, Microsoft Server)
  • Experience with software and database driven systems. Computer set-up for testing
  • Experience with electrical trouble shooting (Schematic Reading, Hi Pot Testing)
  • Ability to work with and manage suppliers / electrical contractor

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with HVAC products, and their control systems, preferred
  • Preferred 3-5+ years of experience in supply chain/manufacturing/operations

Responsibilities

  • Key contributor for planning and transition to production for NPD/VAVE/Upgrade using Trane Business Operating Tools (BOS) such as TTPDP, MOC, 7-ways and more; Driving to best in class controls solutions in a Lean environment.
  • Coordinate a variety of facility-related projects including electrical and mechanical portion of new construction, new equipment installation and relocation of existing equipment and/or processes
  • Develop and maintain interfaces between process control systems and the shop floor for increased visibility and transparency
  • Upgrade existing systems as opportunities arise while delivering project specific manufacturing capital plan and manage implementations.
  • Provide technical assistance and leadership to the planning and purchase of new manufacturing equipment relative to controls for equipment. As well as provide technical support for Safety, Production, Quality and Maintenance on current production issues
  • Review engineering changes to existing products. Update the controls and manufacturing documentation and processes to support the changes.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain existing systems – Honeywell, Rockwell, Fanuc Robotics, AB PLC 5, Controllogix and SLC 500 determine root cause and formulate appropriate corrective action. Ensure final process is capable and stable.
  • Work on special projects as requested
