Requirements

  • Due to the nature of work performed at this site, incumbents must be a U.S. Person.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a custom, make to order, highly engineered product manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in related engineering field is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD or similar program
  • Working knowledge of a broad range of manufacturing disciplines, with a primary focus on electrical assembly, “bench-top” mechanical assembly is necessary
  • Strong working knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-610, J-STD / IPC-7711/7721)
  • An open mind with a strong desire to solve problems and find quality solutions that meet customer, regulatory, and financial expectations

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience in machining, coating, UV printing, laser engraving, welding and/or joining processes is desirable
  • Familiarity with 10CFR50 Appendix B requirements is a plus not but required
  • Attention to detail in document review and evaluation
  • Skills in analyzing, judgement and decision making

Responsibilities

  • Transfer and ownership of engineering drawing and product requirements to item master records, manufacturing bills of materials, and work order routing structure in the ERP system, including specification and maintenance of standard hour estimates.
  • Develop product manufacturing techniques including tooling, fixturing, and processes for electrical and mechanical assembly
  • Provide technical support to assembly and repair personnel in manufacturing techniques and processes
  • Review condition reports (non-conformance reports) and provide resolution and disposition in cooperation with quality assurance and operations personnel
  • Providing input to cost estimates and providing assessment of technical requirements as they relate to manufacturing processes as input to new proposals for Sales department
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement initiatives related to product design and manufacturing
  • Development of standard work instructions, processes and procedures
  • Support engineering, design, operations and procurement by researching obsolete components and determining suitable replacements or alternate solutions
  • Provide vendor and supplier support by evaluating out-going scope of work documents, drawings, and specifications that vendors and suppliers conformance
  • Reduce costs by continually improving production processes, work instructions and designs.
  • Provide input to design engineering to seek designs for manufacturability (DFM)
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the Quality Assurance program
  • Establishing safe work instructions and procedures
  • Initiation of action required to correct substandard conditions
