Based in Lake Forest, California, we're driving clean energy forward by helping our partners meet ambitious net-zero targets with safe, reliable, and sustainable solutions. Our product line includes next-generation fuel storage systems for commercial vehicles and virtual pipeline trailers that offer industry-leading capacity with advanced composite technology. We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for lean principles to design, implement, validate, and document manufacturing processes for the mechanical components of our industry-leading CNG, RNG, and hydrogen fuel storage systems. Due to the hands-on nature of this role and the need for close collaboration with our production team, this position is 100% onsite at our Lake Forest, CA headquarters. The Manufacturing Engineer will work directly with manufacturing equipment, prototypes, and cross-functional teams on the production floor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related
  • 4 years of experience as Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Project Manufacturing Manager, or related
  • 4 years of experience of industrial experience in a production assembly / test environment in the automotive industry
  • 1 year experience in the following:
  • Lean manufacturing implementation
  • Data acquisition systems, programming PLCs and programming filament winding machines
  • MES and/or OEE software and/or paperless manufacturing
  • 6 Sigma green belt certification
  • This position does not offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, and debug production tools and product testing equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain production processes in accordance with lean manufacturing methods and principles.
  • Create routers and visual instruction sheets (VIS’s) to ensure assembly of parts meet product requirements.
  • Provide discrepant material disposition, assists in root cause analysis, and the creation and follow-up of corrective action plans.
  • Work with the R & D Engineering and Quality Engineering in the development of production processes and related documentation.
  • Conduct training classes for shop operators and supervisors to understand new or revised product and process changes.
  • Analyze and measure the manufacturing processes to achieve maximum performance to meet the company goals and objectives of cost reduction and on time deliveries.
  • Create Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) for process risk analysis and implement required actions based on severity, occurrence, and detection.
  • Evaluate current and potential supplier’s capability to provide parts to specification.
