About The Position

Eaton Aerospace’s Beltsville, MD facility is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team. The hourly rate for this position is 20-25 depending on year per hour. Our products power hundreds of military and commercial aircraft platforms with a focus on improved reliability, weight reduction and fuel efficiency. Components & products developed at our location are used for the Mar’s Rover, protecting the Declaration of Independence, and keeping passengers cool and safe as they travel to their favorite vacation destinations. Position Overview In this role, you will support production teams with process improvements & troubleshooting, work with product design on new product tooling & processes, and gain experience in: Continuous Improvement & Lean Management Process Engineering Project Management Cost-Out Management Quality, EHS, Materials Management New Product Introduction and Transitions Organizational Change Management Our internship assignments provide you with great exposure to the Beltsville, MD facility and would prepare you for a potential opportunity to join in an engineering, operations, quality, or supply chain role within Eaton upon graduation.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in engineering at an accredited institution.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Beltsville, MD.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
  • This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

Nice To Haves

  • Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in aerospace or mechanical engineering at an accredited institution.
  • One or more relevant internships or co-op experiences
  • Experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, CAD software
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community.
