About The Position

We have an opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads a team of Operations Support Engineers across multiple product lines within the Commercial Avionics and Business and Regional Avionics production teams in Melbourne, FL. The position works closely with the operations and quality teams to ensure alignment with customer needs with a strong focus on improving productivity, quality, & delivery performance for both production & development programs. Areas of Focus: Test Yields Machine Up Time and Utilizations Cost Savings Productivity CORE Shop Floor Documentation Shop Floor Visuals Variation Reduction Technician Well-developed organizational and time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and allocate resources are foundational for success in this role. You will utilize active listening, critical thinking, and effective problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues while working under pressure. You will be a culture champion for the team focused on individual development and team success.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • 4 + years leading a team in a fast-paced, high mix manufacturing operation.
  • 5+ years’ manufacturing experience within Aerospace Industry.

Responsibilities

  • Guides, reviews, and coaches, the work of other manufacturing engineers, Manufacturing Electrical Engineers, Industrial Engineers and Industrial Engineer Technicians, to ensure that quality and manufacturing standards are met.
  • Implements and monitors operating budgets in to maximize cost effectiveness and ensure standards are met.
  • Identifies opportunities or supervises the implementation of changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts to optimize productivity and ensure optimal use of resources.
  • Guides engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques to enhance performance and manufacturing capabilities.
