JOB SUMMARY  As part of our recent growth, we are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with daily tasks and special projects in Manufacturing areas, including the following processes: CNC, Press Brake, Water Jet, Deburr, Sand Blasting, Straightening, Masking, and Hot Forming. The team member will identify, prioritize, and pull materials listed on manufacturing work orders; set up or assist in setting up machinery according to the dimensions specified on work orders; ensure finished materials are delivered to the appropriate work areas; and verify that work orders are completed accurately.

Requirements

  • Ability to take direction from a supervisor to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to identify potential issues with machinery, processes, or parts.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and directly to co-workers and supervisory personnel, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English through verbal communication, American Sign Language, or adaptive technology

Nice To Haves

  • Skill in reading blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequences.
  • Skill in reading and interpreting documents, such as work orders, drawings, internal and customer specifications, manuals, and safety regulations.
  • Skill in performing mid-level math efficiently and accurately, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Skill in identifying, organizing, estimating, and recognizing differences or similarities.
  • High school diploma/GED

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setting up and operating CNC equipment, Press Brake equipment, Sand Blast equipment, Masking/Mylar equipment, Deburr equipment, Countersink Table Hot Forming processes and as needed.
  • Work closely with machine operators to support day-to-day duties.
  • Utilize work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, and dimensions and tolerances.
  • Utilize measuring equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other tools needed to complete work.
  • Follow prescribed procedures to inspect parts and products to ensure compliance with specifications, eliminate defects, scrap, and rework, and meet all customer quality requirements.
  • Identify and correct root causes for quality problems.
  • Maintain equipment and work area daily in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Detect and report defective equipment, materials, or faulty operations to the plant supervisor.
