Requirements

  • High School graduate, or equivalent, or Associate degree in mechanical technology, electrical technology, or engineering science a plus.
  • Completion of a mechanical or electrical apprenticeship, or military technical training strongly preferred.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of machine shop operations, welding, mechanical/electrical maintenance principles (shafts, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, AC/DC motors, starters, contactors, three phase power, PLC’s) required.
  • Ability to read blueprints, possess advanced mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills and production maintenance work experience.
  • Initiative/motivation and communication skill required.
  • 7-plus years’ mechanic experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • The position is in the factory and could involve standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Occasionally this position may require the lifting and/or moving of more than 60 pounds. All lifting must comply with OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain packaging and support equipment to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct line changeovers and make necessary adjustments per production schedule.
  • Execute PM tasks, identify issues, and correct mechanical/electrical problems.
  • Design, fabricate, and repair parts; operate lathes, milling machines, and other shop tools.
  • Support manufacturing personnel with process issues and train others on basic maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned
