About The Position

Lead the Line. Lift the Standard. Do you thrive running a fast-paced paint line, coaching a team, and protecting finish quality? Can you move from blueprint to beautifully coated parts without missing a beat? If that sounds like you, read on. How You’ll Partner You’ll coordinate closely with the Director, Manufacturing Operations and the Manufacturing Supervisor, serving as the go-to lead for painters and paint attendants on the floor.

Requirements

  • 2+ years as a painter and/or paint line attendant.
  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings or prints.
  • Comfort with math (whole numbers, fractions, decimals) and a calculator.
  • Confident using a tape measure.
  • Basic computer skills in Windows and experience with an ERP system.
  • Demonstrated honesty, integrity, respect, teamwork, and collaboration.
  • Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs; occasionally more than 100 lbs when turning parts over (part-dependent).
  • Color vision and the ability to adjust focus are required.
  • Frequent twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, bending, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
  • PPE required: OSHA-approved safety shoes with metatarsal guards, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirator, and painter’s suit.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, train, and assign work to painters and paint attendants.
  • Translate shop drawings, blueprints, and BOMs into paint plans, including time estimates and requirements.
  • Confirm paint specifications for each order before production.
  • Watch the line for application issues; correct defects and prevent rework.
  • Perform final checks on finished parts for coating quality; support tagging and packaging.
  • Set up and adjust spraying equipment; execute required changeovers.
  • Service spray equipment and maintain the paint exhaust filter system.
  • Invent smart hanging/fixturing approaches to optimize coverage and flow.
  • Alert Purchasing when materials or supplies are needed.
  • Contribute updates in production meetings and help plan future builds.
  • Move parts safely by hand or using a power hoist/crane or forklift.
  • Follow safe manufacturing processes and shop safety rules; jump in as a painter or paint line attendant when needed.
  • Maintain clean, orderly work areas with strong housekeeping habits.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned.
