Interstates is currently seeking a full-time Manufacturing Quality Assurance Technician I to join our Manufacturing team in Sioux Center, Iowa. This entry-level role supports the Quality Manager and production team in maintaining high product quality standards for control panels and related assemblies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-minded, and motivated to support continuous improvement efforts within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality principles preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow structured processes and maintain accurate documentation
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in industrial technology, manufacturing, electrical, or related field helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct manual and automated quality inspections and tests at various stages of the production process
  • Perform panel testing
  • Identify defects or nonconformities and communicate findings to the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are consistently upheld
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and corrective actions
  • Assist in creating and maintaining quality documentation
  • Support adherence to quality standards, audit preparedness, and document control processes
  • Ensure testing and inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained
  • Utilize structured problem-solving methods (e.g., root cause analysis, 5 Whys) to resolve quality issues
  • Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to reduce defects and improve process capability
  • Participate in 5S and GEMBA walks on the shop floor
  • Assist the Quality Manager in recommending and implementing quality improvements
  • Communicate safety or quality concerns promptly and work collaboratively toward resolution
  • Partner with production team members to ensure consistent quality execution
