About The Position

Overview Groton Temporary Services Manager is looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual to join a growing and highly diverse support organization. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible to support the NEW Temporary Services Department in achieving operational excellence and first time quality. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible to support the Department 237 with first time quality issues, work model adherence and other operational items. Roles and Responsibilities: Champion the shipyard wide lines and leads organizational project. Coordinate and track maintenance accomplishment for all shipyard welding equipment. Develop and champion a module loadout plan. Lead self-assessment audits, commit to schedules and maintain product quality Support unplanned event activity, develop lessons learned and associated training and chair/sponsor hot wash events. Support responses to other quality items such as Audit reports, CARs, etc. Assist Manager with commitment responses within the Activity Need Dates Research new equipment/tooling as identified by the Manager of Operations

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years Operations/Manufacturing Trades or Ship's Management experience or equivalent military service time.
  • Communication & Presentation: Clear written (emails, reports) and verbal (phone, meetings) skills.
  • Relationship Building: Connecting with internal and external teams, acting as a trusted liaison.
  • Self-Motivation & Discipline: Essential for independent roles, managing schedules, and driving to goal completion.
  • Customer Service: Understanding and addressing customer needs.
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfort with technology like Oracle and other and digital tools.
  • Time Management: Efficient planning and organization.
  • Adaptability & Resilience: Adjusting to changes and handling pressure.

  • Technical Literacy: Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, or technical manuals to identify equipment components and follow troubleshooting flowcharts.

  • Manufacturing, Shipbuilding and Leadership experience
  • Strong Technical Knowledge in the design, build, procure, installation, test and maintenance process for temporary equipment in one or more of the following areas: Temporary electrical Temporary ventilation Welding and pre-heat Ship’s Management
  • Knowledge of management tools, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor's Degree
