The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. Key Responsibilities Engineers on our Manufacturing team develop, implement and maintain the methods, operation sequences and processes used in General Dynamics Mission Systems production. This involves the fabrication of parts, components, sub assemblies and final assemblies. The employee is also responsible for estimating manufacturing costs, determining project time standards, and recommending the tools and processes that accompany new and existing product lines. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide guidance to fellow engineers, helping them to enhance organizational design concepts and manufacturing techniques. Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures. Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systemss services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices. Responsibilities for this Position Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to effectively manage, grow and evolve General Dynamics Mission Systems technology. The Engineering Manufacturing position requires an associates degree in a related specialized area or the equivalent, with a minimum of zero to two years of related experience. Job responsiblities include, but not limited to, soldering of components on printed wiring boards, cable assembly, chassis and unit assembly. Interaction with manufacturing engineers to solve assembly and manufacturing issues. The ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and wire lists. Hand and basic power tool proficiency is is a must. Travel may be required that involves removal and installation of equipment at integration facilities and/or on-board submarines at Naval shipyards.Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
