About The Position

The Manufacturing Supervisor takes the lead role in VMRD product manufacturing and is responsible for supervising manufacturing personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years' experience in a laboratory environment

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrates the production schedule; assigns production tasks to individuals and workgroups
  • Leads daily planning and coordinates changing priorities with the team
  • Monitors production status daily/weekly with direct reports and communicates timeline changes and updates with the Manufacturing Manager and Sales Team
  • Mentors and coaches, the Team Lead and provides guidance on people management
  • Mentors Manufacturing Assistants, Manufacturing Techs, and Manufacturing Technologists
  • Leads departmental onboarding and training; analyzes gaps and creates a training plan to produce redundancy in proficiency for all manufacturing tasks; creates training opportunities for all team members and nurtures career development
  • Liaises with research to facilitate technology transfer
  • Runs assays: ELISA, IFA, AGID, RID, Lateral Flow, and RT-QuIC
  • Analyzes and interprets data
  • Troubleshoots and identifies areas for process improvement
  • As a managerial role, interviews, hires, and trains new staff; assigns work or projects; provides constructive and ongoing feedback and coaching for development; manages staff in accordance with department needs, company policies, practices, and initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
