The Opportunity Our Plymouth location is seeking a high caliber, motivated, self-driven engineering leader to join Plymouth - Operations team in Abbott’s Electrophysiology business unit. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. Individuals in this role will work on a new product launch and sustained support working cross functionally with partners from operations, supply chain and development teams. This position will support the launch and ramp of a new product line as well as assist with building out the rest of the technical staff to support the production area. Responsible for directing the manufacturing operations performed in a shift or group of production lines, ensuring they reach volume, quality and cost goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, life sciences, or a related field required or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in manufacturing operations
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback to build relationships and improve business results.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device or pharmaceutical preferred).
  • Knowledge of: FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and GMP.
  • Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
  • Cleanroom operations and contamination control.

Responsibilities

  • Controls production activities, material flow, and inventory to achieve cost and quality targets and production schedules of the assigned production line(s).
  • Ensures compliance of standards.
  • Responsible for the management and supervision of the assigned production line(s).
  • Lead a team comprising individual professional (e.g., engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness requirements.
