About The Position

Our site near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC), is growing. This location serves as our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development, as well as high‑complexity production programs. This position will join an exceptional cross‑functional team of engineers and technicians to fabricate components and assemble them into some of the most advanced solid rocket systems in the world. Aerojet Rocketdyne is an industry‑leading supplier of missile components for national defense programs. This role may perform functions such as component fabrication, equipment cleaning and assembly, tool and work‑area cleaning, machinery operation, mixing or processing liner materials, applying liner to cases and components, pressure testing, bonding, assembly, painting, precision part cleaning, mixing adhesives, torquing fasteners, and other duties required to assemble and prepare products for shipment. The role maintains records for manufactured products, follows all safety requirements, and keeps a clean and orderly work area. This position will also support mix/grind/cast operations at the facility. Working under direct supervision, the Manufacturing Technician performs routine and repetitive duties within the manufacturing operations area and applies general manufacturing knowledge to basic problems to determine logical solutions.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Precision assembly of complex aerospace components
  • Perform case prep, line and cast, cure, strip, and machining of solid rocket propellant
  • Support mix/grind/cast operations with energetic materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or lead
