About The Position

If you are an operations professional looking for continuous growth, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you as a Manufacturing Technician! Based in our Reno, NV location, you will provide support and development of solutions for our manufacturing production operations to drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost position. This individual will work closely with other functional groups to deploy solutions to better serve our internal and external customers. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Determining the most efficient way to manufacture valves, valve parts and components based on the manufacturing capabilities of the plant. Creating the system routings for parts and work instructions for manufacturing operators to follow. Creating CNC programs for the different manufacturing machines in the plant to process raw materials or semi-finished goods into valve parts and components. Determining through computer modeling or time studies the system rates for parts and components. Setting up new parts in the ERP system. Aiding in new product development through design for manufacturability. Supporting product assembly, including root cause analysis for fixing processes of component assembly and testing. Sourcing capital equipment for replacement and new projects. Supporting/leading cost reduction projects. Who You Are: You look for obstacles and develop excellent contingency plans. For This Role, You Will Need: 2+ years of experience in manufacturing environment with machine shop and assembly operations experience OR a eqivalent combination of education and experience Proficiency in one or more types of 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, ect) Understanding of Operations planning systems (MRP, ERP), tools, and applications Knowledge of 5S+1, lean manufacturing practices, and continuous improvement Ability to read prints, work with CAD systems and understand engineering requirements Well versed knowledge in material grades Proficiency in metal manufacturing processes including cutting, plasma cutting, surface grinding, welding and painting Understanding of part costing

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing environment with machine shop and assembly operations experience OR a eqivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of experience with any ERP system (Oracle/SAP)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt
