About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician II is responsible for performing a range of advanced technical tasks related to the fabrication and assembly of aerospace structures. This mid-level role involves hands-on mechanical work, following detailed work instructions and technical drawings to ensure precision and quality. This position will play a crucial role in the production process and contribute to the company’s overall performance in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Attitude (QCDSA). Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 2–8 years of related manufacturing or assembly experience.
  • Experience operating fabrication tools and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform technical fabrication and mechanical work.
  • Strong measurement and mathematical skills, including algebra and geometry.
  • Familiarity with aerospace materials, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and Material Management software.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, and supportive.
  • Proactive and solution-focused with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Calm and reliable under pressure; able to meet production deadlines.

  • Adhere to OSHA, NADCAP, ISO9000 / AS9100, ITAR, FAA regulations and company specific safety standards.
  • Internal Certifications: Forklift, Slings/Cranes, FPV, Heat Treat or others deemed appropriate.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift).
  • Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25-50lbs regularly, and occasionally heavier weights with assistance.
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to manufacturing environments, including moderate noise levels, vibrations, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required, Such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical mechanical work using standard hand tools and inspection equipment.
  • Operate equipment for sheet metal fabrication and structural assembly, including: - Deburring, Routing, Polishing, Shear & Saw Operation - Press Forming, Draw Forming, Brake Forming - Stretch Forming, Roll Forming, Hot Forming - Check & Straighten, Heat Treating
  • Cross-train in Assembly and Machining to support workforce flexibility.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, process sheets, and blueprints.
  • Handle delicate aerospace components with care and precision.
  • Conduct basic visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Accurately complete documentation such as routers and inspection logs.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area, following safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with troubleshooting issues and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
