About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to provide hands-on manufacturing support across prototype fabrication, equipment build, and testing activities. Reporting to the Manufacturing Development Manager, this role works closely with Engineering and Operations to turn designs into precision-built hardware. Requirements

  • Certificate, degree, or apprenticeship in manufacturing or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience operating CNC machine tools (EDM, mill, lathe, CMM).
  • Ability to generate and edit G&M code.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings to develop manufacturing and inspection plans.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and machining processes.
  • Proficiency with basic hand inspection tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DOE/NRC Q-Clearance.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with equipment assembly, pipefitting/welding, millwright, or similar trades.
  • Experience using Mastercam or other CAM software.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
  • Lifting and rigging experience.
  • Background in classified or highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC and manual machine tools including EDM, mills, grinders, and lathes.
  • Set up machines, select tooling, validate setups, and execute machining operations to meet drawing requirements.
  • Troubleshoot machining challenges and implement improvements to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Develop manufacturing process plans including routings, setups, tooling, and inspection points.
  • Create, modify, and prove out G&M code programs from 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • Design, fabricate, and validate fixtures and workholding solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews to address manufacturability concerns early.
  • Provide practical feedback on tolerances, materials, finishes, and assembly considerations.
  • Communicate technical constraints, risks, and schedule impacts to stakeholders.
  • Support fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning of engineering equipment.
  • Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting to support testing and development.
  • Prepare hardware, support test setups, and document observations as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and report issues promptly.
  • Support tooling control, consumables management, and shop readiness.
