About The Position

NOV is actively recruiting for a Manufacturing Technician to work the day shift in our Cedar Park, Texas production facility. The successful candidate will perform tasks include assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic products and equipment. The ability to identify and diagnose problems and analyze root cause is critical to the success of this position. The Technician will need to apply advanced skills in electronic and mechanical assembly, testing, calibration, repair, and maintenance, as well as accurately documenting all work performed. They must be able to resolve most problems independently and escalate only more complex issues to higher levels and work under typical manufacturing time constraints and under minimal supervision. This role works Onsite. Day shift, full time position

Requirements

  • Electronics training, or 2 years of related and relevant field, military, or equivalent work experience or Associates Degree in Electronics Technology
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrable proficiency with assembling, testing and calibrating complex electro-mechanical devices in a manufacturing or similar work environment.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of test equipment including but not limited to, bench power supplies, hand-held meters, etc.
  • Relevant soldering and wiring skills
  • Relevant experience reading and understanding electronic schematics and firm understanding of electronic symbols.
  • Experience with all types of hand tools such as: torque wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, wire strippers, and crimping tools.
  • Attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Operate machines or use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place.
  • Mount assembly components on panels or printed circuit boards and connect component wiring to printed circuits. Route and connect wires between individual components leads and other components using advanced soldering and crimping skills.
  • Assemble, wire, test, calibrate, trouble-shoot and repair strain-gauge based electro-mechanical sensors in a time constrained manufacturing environment.
  • Analyze and effectively evaluate test data against establish pass/fail criteria.
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with coworkers and engineers to quickly resolve problems related to products and procedures.
  • Perform assignments under minimal supervision.
  • Resolves most problems and refers only more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
