About The Position

The Marina Dock Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at Shelter Island Marina. This role supports the upkeep of marina facilities and provides exceptional service to guests, ensuring a positive and seamless experience on the water.

Requirements

Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Reliable, punctual, and customer-service oriented.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Able to lift, carry, and move moderate loads.
Basic maintenance or handyman skills are a plus.
Be able to safely operate a variety of power tools.

Responsibilities

Organize and maintain a clean shop/yard.
Carry out duties as assigned to support marina operations.
Operate portable submersible pumps to remove water from boats and floats.
Maintain cleanliness of docks; remove trash, debris, and hazards.
Assist customers with gear on ramps.
Collect and clean dock carts and boxes.
Coil hoses and keep walkways tidy and unobstructed.
Wipe down benches, railings, and other surfaces.
Prep and paint dock furniture (wood and metal).
Perform basic repairs to facilities, including docks, cleats, hose bibs, lighting, and utilities.
Support general maintenance of the marina office.
Identify and report safety or environmental hazards to the supervisor.
