River Valley in Rochester is hiring a Marine Buyer & Consignment Specialist to work directly with private boat owners and fellow boating enthusiasts. You’ll source, evaluate, consign, and sell used boats while building strong relationships with sellers and buyers who share the boating lifestyle. This is not an entry-level role and not a desk-only job. Requirements

Strong working knowledge of boats (models, conditions, values, and real-world adjustments)
Ability to work independently with daily performance expectations
Comfortable meeting customers face-to-face and earning trust
Strong negotiation skills
High comfort level using Facebook Marketplace and Messenger
Detail-oriented with paperwork, titles, and contracts
Reliable, self-motivated, and driven by results

Nice To Haves

Marine Technician
Service Advisor
Boat Sales or Used Boat Manager
Marine or Powersports Dealership Experience
Experience with Lightspeed / Lightspeed EVO, DP360, or Excel is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Source and acquire quality used boats from private sellers
Build and manage a profitable boat consignment inventory
Accurately evaluate boat condition, value, and market pricing
Negotiate confidently with private-party sellers and buyers
Sell used and consigned boats through Facebook Marketplace and Messenger
Sell boats from our product line during shows, events, and as needed on the sales floor
Maximize front-end gross profit and inventory turn
Communicate clearly and professionally with customers
Manage titles, contracts, and documentation accurately
Maintain a clean, professional showroom and lot
Follow dealership processes and sales standards
Attend sales meetings and collaborate with management
