About The Position

THE POSITION: The Marketing & Communications Director plays a critical role in expanding EverHope’s visibility and strengthening engagement across programs and communities. Working closely with the Vice President of Communications & Engagement, this role translates organizational priorities into clear marketing plans, campaigns, and content initiatives that advance EverHope’s mission and statewide presence. The ideal candidate takes initiative on projects, identifies opportunities, builds relationships across departments, surfaces stories, recommends campaigns, and moves ideas into action quickly and effectively. This individual proactively engages program leaders and partners, anticipates communication needs, and develops timely, compelling content that reflects EverHope’s trauma-informed approach and statewide growth.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in the use of computers and office equipment.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated.
  • Excellent verbal, writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task work; self-motivated and excellent in building relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • 2+ years of relevant marketing experience with demonstrated initiative and ownership of projects.
  • Twenty-one years of age or older.
  • Must pass all criminal history and child maltreatment background checks.
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug screen, as well as random drug screens when directed.

Nice To Haves

  • Squarespace experience is a plus.
  • Experience with donor or nonprofit communications.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation and CRM platforms.
  • Social media analytics and digital campaign experience.
  • Basic video editing or animation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Content & Campaign Development Translate organizational priorities and communications strategy into clear marketing plans, campaign timelines, and content initiatives that support program goals and fundraising efforts.
  • Proactively identify storytelling opportunities across programs and create content based on these stories.
  • Develop and execute targeted digital campaigns aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Create timely, effective social campaigns, content plans and posts that promote emerging needs and opportunities.
  • Partner with leadership to clarify metrics, outcomes, timelines, and expectations for major initiatives.
  • Relationship Building & Internal Collaboration Build strong working relationships across departments to surface stories, impact data, and program updates.
  • Work with program and development leaders to identify communication needs and develop coordinated marketing plans that support program growth, engagement, and recruitment.
  • Coordinate with external partners and vendors to ensure brand alignment and timely execution.
  • Brand Stewardship & Creative Execution Design and produce high-quality marketing assets, including digital ads, social content, email campaigns, brochures, and web graphics.
  • Ensure consistency in EverHope’s voice, visual identity, and trauma-informed messaging.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold dignity in all child and family representation.
  • Digital Presence & Optimization Plan and manage integrated marketing campaigns across digital, email, and social channels to support organizational initiatives and program priorities.
  • Maintain and update website and social platforms with fresh, strategic content.
  • Monitor analytics and recommend adjustments to improve engagement and reach.
  • Support audience segmentation and targeted outreach strategies.
  • Event & Recruitment Marketing Develop promotional materials for events and foster care recruitment efforts.
  • Support quick-turn campaigns tied to organizational priorities.
