About The Position

As we continue to expand our reach and impact, Noom is seeking a Marketing Attorney to lead legal support for marketing, branding, and advertising initiatives as well as clinical research studies. Reporting to the General Counsel, this role will serve as a strategic partner to teams across Marketing, Growth, Product, Brand, and Clinical Research. You'll review marketing and creative materials, provide guidance on associated intellectual property issues, provide guidance on content generation and influencer relationships, and advise on clinical and promotional claims in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited U.S. law school and active bar membership in good standing
  • 5+ years of post-law school legal experience, with direct hands-on experience in:
  • Advertising and marketing law
  • FTC, UDAP, NAD and consumer protection compliance
  • Claims substantiation and risk assessment
  • Influencer marketing and brand partnerships
  • Intellectual property matters relating to advertising and marketing
  • Clinical research studies
  • Experience reviewing fast-paced, high-volume digital marketing content and campaigns
  • Strong judgment, pragmatism, and the ability to deliver actionable advice
  • Client service mindset with the ability to work closely with all levels of an organizations’ staff

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the regulatory considerations in healthcare, digital health, or related sectors preferred
  • Some In-house experience preferred; law firm experience required

Responsibilities

  • Review and advise on advertising, marketing, and promotional content across digital and traditional channels
  • Counsel teams on claims substantiation, FTC compliance, UDAP, and consumer protection standards
  • Provide legal support for performance marketing, testimonials, influencer collaborations, and brand campaigns
  • Assess legal risk related to consumer-facing health, wellness, and clinical claims
  • Advise on intellectual property matters, including trademarks and licensing, arising out of marketing and advertising.
  • Advise on user-generated content, content partnerships, and emerging marketing models
  • Support Clinical and Research teams in marketing and study-related communications and contracts
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver succinct, solution-oriented legal guidance at speed
