About the position

LMCU is looking for either a Marketing Copywriter or Senior Copywriter to join our dynamic marketing team. These positions will work with our marketing team to help formulate creative concepts and ideas, writing creative, engaging, persuasive, captivating and informative content across all marketing channels. Both roles will be responsible for competitive research and creative writing used in marketing tactics like billboards, ads, social media posts, direct mail pieces, and radio ads, with opportunities for growth and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and write impactful copy that support strategic goals across all marketing campaign elements including direct mail, digital ads, TV commercial scripts, paid search terms, social ads, website copy, blog copy, newsletters, press releases, and in-branch materials with heavy emphasis on digital content creation.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team by providing creative ideas and suggestions in the development of marketing concepts and programs, participating in meetings with internal business groups.
  • Continually research credit union and financial industry data to stay current on relevant trends, developing a competitive database to understand competitors' strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
  • Execute content creation across the credit union's significant business units, focusing on member story content and messaging across all marketing channels.
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations while demonstrating LMCU's PRIDE culture values and contributing to team success.
  • Bring marketing briefs to life through conceptual ideation, development, and execution of strategically focused creative across a variety of consumer touch points and advertising channels that moves prospects and members to action.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners within the marketing team and other LMCU internal business groups in finding creative solutions that effectively deliver results-driven marketing and advertising collateral.
  • Guide, mentor and inspire colleagues in their day-to-day work while helping them to become subject matter knowledgeable in the credit union and finance space.
  • Ensure content aligns with brand voice, tone and style guidelines while presenting creative concepts in a clear, articulate and persuasive manner to key stakeholders.
  • Lead copy and creative development from brief to final execution and champion creative solutions to key-stakeholders across the LMCU organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, advertising, English, journalism, or related field.
  • Three to five years of copywriting experience required, or similar experience in a marketing role.
  • Strong proofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guides.
  • SEO and key search term experience strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of WorkZone preferred, or other content management systems.
  • Familiarity with writing for a wide variety of marketing mediums and both Mac and PC Microsoft environments.
  • Demonstrated success working in fast-paced creative environment with team-oriented collaborative approach.
  • 6+ years of experience as a copywriter as part of an internal creative team or agency environment required.

Nice-to-haves

  • SEO and key search term experience strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of WorkZone preferred, or other project management software.
