About the position

As the Marketing Director and a member of the management team, your passion to increase center sales and traffic will help you drive the Marketing and Marketing Partnerships of the center, promote the center and retailers, and create sponsorship and media income opportunities that will make Tanger a First Choice destination and shopping experience. In this role, you will be an instrumental part of our team by connecting closely with retailers to provide them with the services and support they need to be successful. Your interface with customers will ensure more frequent visits to shop and share their positive experience with friends and family. You will assist the General Manager in developing a comprehensive strategic business plan to include advertising, special events, and serving as an ambassador for our brand. You will work closely with our Customer Service team to deliver the highest level of service to our shoppers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an annual marketing plan and budget which increases center sales and traffic.
  • Drive sponsorship and media sales, supporting Tanger corporate programs.
  • Create mutually beneficial marketing partnerships to meet annual revenue goals.
  • Monitor and maintain the marketing budget, accounting for variances and adjusting plans as needed.
  • Create and execute national and local programs that integrate retailers and drive traffic and sales.
  • Manage the local sales process from beginning to end, establishing a pipeline and refining sales targets.
  • Communicate the benefits of Tanger Outlets and offer marketing and advertising solutions to clients.
  • Collaborate with RVP of Marketing, Corporate Marketing, and media agency to develop targeted advertising plans.
  • Garner publicity on a local and regional level using area print and broadcast resources.
  • Cultivate strong retailer relations and provide support to ensure their success.
  • Engage with the local community to develop and execute a local tourism strategy.
  • Participate actively in local organizations to increase awareness of the center's role as a good corporate citizen.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • 4+ years of experience in marketing, sales, public relations, hospitality, or equivalent.
  • Management/supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership capacity.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365.
  • Ability to travel via commercial airlines and maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Experience in the commercial real estate industry or a retail environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs.
