As the first U.S. publisher dedicated to art and illustrated books—and an industry leader in visual and narrative publishing—ABRAMS is seeking a Marketing Intern to join our School & Library team as part of our Summer Internship Program commencing on June 2, 2026. Over the course of this immersive, unpaid program (offered for academic credit only), the School & Library Marketing Intern will work closely with the School & Library department, assisting in outreach to educators and librarians and helping to execute marketing campaigns for children's book titles, ranging from board books to young adult novels. This is an excellent opportunity to gain insight into how publishers collaborate with educators and librarians to support the vital services they provide to their communities. Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited academic institution. This internship is not open to recent graduates. Learning and networking with ABRAMS employees, publishing professionals, and fellow interns during this internship experience for academic credit Gaining hands-on exposure to the publishing industry, from concept to finished product Supporting research, project work, and day-to-day tasks within your assigned department Contributing ideas and providing creative input on department projects Collaborating with cross-functional teams and learning about various areas of the publishing business Participating in workshops and discussions designed to deepen your understanding of publishing trends and processes Receiving coaching, mentorship, and feedback from experienced ABRAMS professionals

Requirements

  • Assist in brainstorming marketing ideas and initiatives for children's books.
  • Coordinate mailings to key contacts, award committees, and reviewers.
  • Research new educators and librarian contacts to expand our list of valuable connections.
  • Help with preparations for conferences, events, and other promotional activities.
  • Update and maintain departmental organizational documents.
  • Collaborate with the team to support various marketing efforts for the Children's list.
  • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited academic institution.
  • This internship is not open to recent graduates.
