About the position

As a Marketing Manager, you will report to the Director of Sales and Marketing and be responsible for proposing and implementing a full suite of marketing strategies to build awareness about the hotel and promote customer loyalty. We have a recently renovated product and the Marketing Manager will be responsible for assisting with launching campaigns including photo shoots, new collateral, social media content, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with our website and social media partners to ensure our Brand Message and relevant information is shared as required.
  • Ensure website is current and up to competitive and brand standards.
  • Oversee and manage hotel social media on channels including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and others ensuring imagery and copy is consistent with the identity and positioning of each.
  • Creates, oversees and executes hotel and F&B activations. Work with food and beverage management and DOSM on creative and content.
  • Utilize current reporting from agencies, Google Analytics and social networks to drive improved content and social marketing initiatives and decisions.
  • Analyze KPI’s to ensure strategy has strong ROI and make recommendations as needed.
  • Work with TravelClick to develop GDS campaigns and advertising.
  • Work with, engage daily, and execute plans with PR companies and all IHG marketing affiliates to ensure optimal promotion of InterContinental Boston.
  • Manage online presence with an emphasis on creating unique and engaging content for branded hotel website and third-party sites.
  • Work with Director of Revenue to review need periods for rooms sales and develop digital strategies and packages to proactively achieve desired results.
  • Work with IHG Digital to ensure that hotel website is optimized using current best practices for SEO and brand standards.
  • Attend various events local events to build profile within the market place.
  • Manage promotional packages and campaigns including requesting creative, drafting the communication plan, and sending a marketing recap once completed.
  • Develops and organizes promotional activities, coordinates with departments involved; invites VIPs and media to promotional activities; prepares and issues press releases.
  • Establishes a program for sending promotional news to trade publications on a regular basis, releases covering special events, promotions, etc.
  • Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and Internet websites. Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Work with Sales team to develop content for presentations and collateral.
  • Lead weekly hotel marketing meeting to have robust plans built out on activations – both internally, digital channels and utilizing on property resources.
  • Assist hotel with various communication needs including collaterals, signages, e-blasts, etc.
  • Maintain archive of images, photos, or previous work products.
  • Develops promotional concepts for hotel as needed to fill need periods, food and beverage sales and expand awareness of on-site recreational activities.
  • Demonstrated skills including: writing and editing; digital, website development and maintenance.
  • Self-motivator who can manage the responsibilities of the department without daily supervision.
  • Manage relationships with the operational teams.
  • Represent the hotel with a positive attitude and professional attire.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to IHG and InterContinental Boston sustainability programs.
  • Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the role.
  • Responsible for practicing, managing, and promoting the company’s values so that it becomes an intricate part of the everyday operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools and web analytics.
  • Understanding of SEO and content management systems.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms.
  • Creative thinking and ability to strategize.
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM software.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of market trends and consumer behavior.
  • Experience in campaign management.
  • Fluency in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy under pressure of tense/confrontational situations.
