About The Position

The Marketing Manager – Social Media & Content is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing the company’s digital presence with a strong focus on social media marketing, content creation, and content gathering for a California-based catering and events company. This role drives brand awareness, lead generation, and client engagement by showcasing events, culinary offerings, and company culture across digital platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience managing social media and content for hospitality, catering, or events.
  • Proven experience creating engaging photo and video content.
  • Strong knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and emerging platforms.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or similar tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for event coverage.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to event sites within California.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in catering, hospitality, weddings, or live events.
  • Basic photography and videography skills.
  • Familiarity with Meta Business Manager and paid social advertising.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.).
  • Knowledge of SEO and local search optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Manage daily posting, scheduling, and community engagement across key platforms.
  • Capture and produce high-quality photo and video content at events and tastings.
  • Create short-form video and static graphics that highlight food, events, and client experiences.
  • Maintain an organized digital asset library.
  • Track and report on social media KPIs including reach, engagement, and conversions.
  • Manage online reputation including reviews and direct messages.
  • Collaborate with chefs, event managers, and sales teams to identify content opportunities.
  • Assist with marketing campaigns, website updates, and email content as needed.
