About The Position

Oak View Group (OVG) is the global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, with a platform spanning venue development and end-to-end capabilities across venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Founded in 2015, the company serves a collection of seven world-class owned venues and a client roster of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions, spanning four continents. Oak View Group is seeking a creative, dynamic Marketing Manager with marketing and communications experience to help drive strategic vision and implementation of awareness and revenue driving campaigns for the Iowa Events Center. The preferred candidate is a motivated team member who can work with members of the marketing team to drive innovation, data-driven decisions, and community awareness initiatives. This position will report to the Director of Marketing and be an integral part of promoting the Iowa Events Center as a destination for meetings and events while working with promoters to drive ticket sales and attendance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration or other related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Experience in digital/traditional marketing and strategy and media initiatives from concept to completion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an expert ability to present and communicate new ideas and concepts.
  • Creative and driven, be able to ideate and execute on unique marketing opportunities.
  • Knowledge of Contact Management Systems preferred.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, high-pressure environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended (long) workdays and extended numbers of days.

Nice To Haves

  • Photography and video editing capabilities a plus.
  • Experience with large-scale events in a stadium, concert or convention center is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development, planning, and implementation of Iowa Events Center marketing and communications goals to drive revenue and awareness of our facility and events on a local, regional, and national level.
  • Manage the department’s Internship Program, from recruitment and hiring to training and relationship management post-internship.
  • Collaborate with the planning and execution of marketing campaigns specific to family shows, concerts, sporting events or consumer shows to maximize attendance and ticket revenue. This includes but is not limited to media planning-negotiating-buying, promotion implementation, publicity, digital and social media marketing, and settlement preparation.
  • Lead weekly planning and brainstorming sessions with the team to develop creative content and schedules, artist gifting, artist experiences and fan activations for upcoming events.
  • Maintain working relationships with various promoters, show producers, and local media.
  • Drive innovation regarding the Iowa Evens Center’s digital marketing strategy, inclusive of social media, podcasts, database marketing, video, and website presence.
  • Analyze challenges and opportunities, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions; present recommendations to Director of Marketing; implement approved recommendations in support of organizational objectives.
  • Assist marketing team as on-site marketing department representative for designated events. Duties may include serving as venue PR rep, media escorting, sponsor and/or promotional partner implementation, etc.
  • Track, analyze and compare event ticket sales information and suggest improvements to reach goals.
  • Understand and use analytics for data-based decision making.
  • Maintain adherence to facility branding guidelines in all activities in verbal and written communications and graphics.
  • Work closely with Advertising and Premium Seating departments, Box Office, Food and Beverage and other departments on implementation of marketing campaigns and fulfillment or contractual requirements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community partners through networking groups, non-profits, and philanthropic partnerships.
