About the position

The Marketing Manager drives the program's engagement strategy to ensure building owners, community stakeholders, and contractors are aware of and accessing this NYC Program's services. This role blends digital marketing, grassroots outreach, and equity-centered storytelling to drive participation in diverse building types, including multifamily, commercial, industrial, and religious buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage marketing campaigns targeting building owners, property managers, and contractors.
  • Oversee branding, messaging, and content development across email, social media, print, and website.
  • Coordinate multilingual communications and ensure accessibility and inclusivity in all materials.
  • Collaborate with workforce and service provider teams to amplify success stories and case studies.
  • Lead planning and execution of outreach events, conference participation, and an annual expo.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with CBOs, community-based organizations, and tenant associations to support hyperlocal engagement.
  • Track and analyze marketing performance; adjust strategies based on analytics and stakeholder feedback.
  • Develop and manage marketing budgets and outreach calendars.
  • Provide guidance and support to outreach staff; lead internal training on engagement best practices.
  • Establish KPIs to measure marketing impact and conduct regular audits to ensure alignment with program goals and compliance standards.
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies and recommend improvements to maximize outreach effectiveness.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment focused on innovation and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in mission-driven marketing, clean energy, or nonprofit communications.
  • Proven success in campaign development, community outreach, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Mailchimp, Canva, CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), and analytics dashboards.
  • Deep cultural competency and familiarity with NYC's diverse neighborhoods and community dynamics.
  • Knowledge of building science, energy efficiency, or construction trades preferred.
  • Strong project management and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with performance tracking and partnership development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital collaboration platforms.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal energy efficiency policies a plus.
