About the position

At Swinerton, the Strategic Pursuits team plays a focused and strategic role in supporting the acquisition of work through the development of pursuit strategies, participation in capture planning, and the crafting of compelling proposals and marketing materials that differentiate Swinerton from its competitors, enhancing the company's chances of winning projects. Leveraging expertise in branding, content creation, stakeholder engagement, and project management, the Marketing Pursuits team collaborates in partnership with pursuit teams (internal and external) to align client needs with the company's capabilities to secure the best opportunities for the organization aligned with strategic objectives. As a Marketing Pursuits Specialist, while still developing a total understanding of your role in proposal management, you typically assist in the management and support of pursuits, which involves coordinating proposals, presentations, and other marketing materials essential for winning projects. Typical responsibilities may include the collection and maintenance of essential project data, resumes, and professional backgrounds to showcase the company's track record and team qualifications, ensure that proposal sections are tailored to client requirements, writing/editing of both non-technical and technical content to effectively communicate the company's strengths, coordinate internal communication regarding proposal deadlines, and assist with client research. You will work closely with senior marketing professionals and pursuit team members to ensure that marketing strategies align with the firm's goals and effectively showcase its expertise and capabilities. Additionally, you may engage in market research, competitor analysis, and maintaining the accuracy and completeness of marketing information databases and platforms. As you gain more experience, you will develop the ability to lead smaller proposals/pursuits individually and contribute more significantly to strategic planning and execution, helping to drive the firm's growth and success in a competitive industry landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and coordination of proposals and presentations, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives, client requirements, and brand standards.
  • Assist in the creation and coordination of proposal submissions for potential projects while developing the capability to lead smaller pursuits.
  • Collaborate with pursuit teams in the development of winning strategies for each proposal.
  • Support and/or lead the proposal development process, including establishing timelines and ensuring all components are completed on time.
  • Actively participate in all pursuit meetings.
  • Coordinate input from various stakeholders to gather relevant information for the proposal.
  • Conduct research to understand the client's needs, preferences, and project requirements.
  • Write and edit proposal content to ensure clarity and compliance with client requirements.
  • Utilize branded templates to create visually appealing proposal documents.
  • Review all proposal drafts for accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee the production of final proposal documents.
  • Lead or assist in the creation and coordination of interviews/presentations for potential projects.
  • Collaborate with pursuit team to develop presentation content.
  • Organize and support rehearsal sessions for the presentation team.
  • Manage logistical aspects of the presentation.
  • Lead and/or support the development of marketing collateral.
  • Coordinate and track the progress of projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure that all marketing materials produced meet the company's quality standards.
  • Develop an understanding of strategy and capture planning through direct exposure.
  • Actively collect, update, and maintain relevant data during pursuit activities.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment within the marketing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, business/professional writing, journalism, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Understanding of branding principles.
  • Familiarity with brand and style guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous experience in the AEC industry is highly beneficial.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
