Marketing Student Assistant
About The Position
Assist in executing event and gameday plans and promotional activities for sports as assigned including, but not limited to, pre-game, in-game and post-game activities Assist in the management of community outreach programs which may include, but not be limited to, donation requests, student rewards program, Junior Jayhawks and Jayhawks for a Cure Assist in ensuring corporate entitlements are activated/fulfilled on gameday and assist with requests from corporate partners Assist with special events such as Late Night in the Phog, Ladies Night Out, Football Fan Day, Big 12 Championships and NCAA Championships Conduct research to identify new event and gameday experience opportunities Support the athletics department goals and philosophies as descripted by the Director of Athletics and work to achieve and uphold the department’s mission statement and core values Maintain knowledge of department activities, sports schedules, and procedures Maintain a positive attitude and enthusiasm toward performing job duties and in working with other staff Adhere to University, Big 12 Conference, Kansas Athletics, and NCAA policies and procedures Perform general office duties Other duties as assigned by the marketing staff
Requirements
- Full-time student pursuing a degree in sport management, marketing, business, public relations or related field
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Availability for long and varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
