POSITION SUMMARY The Massage Therapist, working as part of the Health and Wellbeing team, will deliver world-class customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in evaluating clients’ muscle strength and range of motion, provide therapy to relieve pain, heal injuries, improve circulation and aid in the general wellness of clients. Requirements

• Active Colorado Massage Therapy License (DORA)
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and therapeutic techniques
• Professional communication and client care skills
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed
• Bachelor’s degree required in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education
• 1 – 3 years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
• Hold current Massage Therapists Certification
• 1 year experience as a Professional Massage therapist, providing exercise assessments and conducting personal or small group training sessions
• Knowledge of reflexology, Swedish, prenatal, hot stone, trigger point, sports, and deep tissue
• Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills
• Possess a positive and professional attitude
• Current CPR/AED/02 and First Aid certification

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience in modalities such as deep tissue, sports massage, or recovery-focused techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional massage therapy services tailored to individual needs
• Maintain accurate client documentation and treatment notes
• Ensure a clean, safe, and calming treatment environment
• Uphold YMCA policies and Colorado regulatory standards
• Build positive relationships with members and staff
• Promote wellness services within the YMCA community
• Evaluate clients' soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, range of motion
• Consult with clients about their medical histories and any problems with stress and/or pain in order to determine whether massage would be helpful
• Attend and remain current on all mandatory training and staff meetings
• Accurately maintain records and ensure proper tracking of client information
• Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and guests in our facility
• Hold a current massage therapists’ certification
• Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign, and general procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, facility access procedures, membership policies, and emergency plans
