About The Position

The Material Handler 2 position exists to facilitate the distribution of goods into, within, and out of the warehouse. This position loads and unloads trucks, places goods into storage and moves inventory as needed. Will use all manner of warehouse equipment including electric and propane forklifts, swing reach trucks, manual and electric pallet jacks, ladders, and PC’s utilizing the appropriate software. Responsible for proper receiving of all goods both physically and through the accounting system.

  • 2 years or more of Material Handling/Distribution Services Experience
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn software applications including, MS Dynamics, GP Receiving
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access)
  • Requires coordination sufficient to operate various machines
  • Ability to function in a team environment with ability to encourage other team members
  • Quick learner, not easily distracted

  • Proficient skills in use of a Windows PC

Responsibilities

  • Receives dock door deliveries and small parcels
  • Provides first level auditing of incoming goods
  • Records receipts into inventory/acct system
  • Runs Production Reports
  • Product retrieval - all rack levels
  • Product put away - all rack levels
  • Delivers product to various staging areas
  • Performs local post office and on campus deliveries with the truck or van.
  • Appropriately maintains receiving documents
  • Resolves discrepancies
  • Manages, stores, and retrieves ministry departmental archives
  • Provides normal process task training
  • Offloads full containers and double stacked loads
  • Operates basic warehouse equipment including pallet wrapper, electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks and weight count scales Passes OSHA required training to operate specialized and complex mobile Material Handling equipment such as ride along pallet jacks, sit down forklifts, narrow aisle order pickers and swing reach turret trucks.
  • Packs orders into various packages
  • Generates and applies labels through computerized shipping system
  • Assists with pick up and deliveries of incoming and outgoing mail/package to department mail stations
  • Picks up and delivers all incoming and outgoing packages
  • Prepares and ships expedited and special orders
  • Develops ideas and suggestions toward continuous process improvement; takes personal responsibility for quality of the team's results
  • Takes personal responsibility for housekeeping and safety within the team's work area
  • Contributes toward meeting predetermined performance objectives
  • Remains flexible and willing to work anywhere with any team member when there is a need
  • Remains dependable and punctual, has a good attendance record
  • Works under direct supervision, refers questions to MH 3 or Leadership
  • All In Plant Staff has cross train opportunities and are expected to engage in non-specialized work in other areas. This includes shipping, manufacturing, and off load for any other production machine.
