Challenge is #QualityDriven and #PeoplePowered! The Material Handler, Weld is responsible for timely and accurate delivery of product to internal and external customers. Must ensure inventory levels are accurate and maintained. Responsible for safe operation of gas or electric powered lifting devices.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years minimum of verifiable material handling experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to pass operational and written forklift assessment and maintain certification to remain in Material Handler classification
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to detect defects.
  • Ability to use scanner.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • May require lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required

Responsibilities

  • Utilize hand scanners and PLEX to correctly log inventory to the location.
  • Escalate damaged parts or containers, missing inventory, and any accidents, incidents, or damage to Team Leaders and/or Supervisors.
  • Accurate completion of forklift inspection.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Participate in inventory
  • Recharge batteries and/or replace liquified gas tank
  • Continuously identify opportunities for quality and process improvements.
  • Cross train in various zones centers as required
  • All other duties as assigned
