As the Material Master Data Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of material master data across the organization. You will manage the lifecycle of material records within SAP, support BOMs and related production data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data with procurement, manufacturing, and supply chain processes. This role also drives data governance standards, supports system and product launches, and leads continuous improvements to enhance data quality and operational efficiency. The position is based on site in Lawrenceville, GA Monday-Thursday, with remote work available on Fridays.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in Material Master Data Management.
  • High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and hands on experience in multiple SAP environments, including strong expertise in SAP Master Data processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Master Data Management, Data Governance, and Data Quality Principles.
  • Extensive and specialized experience in Master Data Management, particularly within material and product master data domains.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with SAP best practices in material, vendor and customer master data.
  • Understands relationships of Master Data across the different domains and the impacts & consequences of master data decisions on business processes.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data management principles.
  • Change management skills with both large-scale transformation and small-scale continuous improvement projects preferred.
  • Experience leading Master Data transformation initiatives toward implementing best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large amounts of data accurately and timely, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate data requirements to the business and translate business requirements into data solutions.
  • Ability to communicate in a simple, articulate, thoughtful manner.
  • Innovative spirit to work cross-functionally in developing improvement ideas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Industrial Distribution, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related industry is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP or part of another ERP implementation team preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document and enforce standards, best practice policies, and procedures for data creation and maintenance to ensure high-quality, accurate, compliant & standardized data across the organization.
  • Create and maintain material master records, including part numbers, descriptions, classifications, and related data.
  • Support and manage Bill of Materials (BOM), recipes and resources creation and updates within SAP to ensure proper configuration and alignment with production procurement needs.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of material records
  • Provide technical and functional SAP support for business processes related to materials, purchasing, inventory and production planning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, operations, R&D, PMO and supply chain teams to ensure data integrity and consistency across all systems and support new product launches.
  • Participate in data cleanup, migration, and governance projects as needed.
  • Work with business process leads, key stakeholders and end users to understand end-to-end , cross-functional data requirements and ensure data requirements are captured in business use cases.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing and executing business scenarios
  • Identify defects and issues, resolve anomalies to prevent disruptions to the business.
  • Support business users with data integrity issues and questions.
  • Supports users through training, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives, producing job aids as needed.
  • Support data augmentation as needed.
  • Drive process improvements to streamline data management workflows and adopt new technologies
