About The Position

The Material Planner Buyer ensures our winery bottling operations run smoothly by sourcing and managing raw materials and components efficiently. This role is critical to meeting production goals while maintaining quality, cost, and inventory targets. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, adapts quickly to change, and proactively resolves supply issues to keep production flowing seamlessly. Reports to: Procurement Manager Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Compensation: $30 - $32

Requirements

  • Previous supply chain/procurement experience preferred.
  • Experience procuring raw winery materials.
  • Action-oriented with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in NAV with detailed knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Able to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Experience maintaining accurate physical inventory across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Review MRP regularly and execute purchase orders, supplier confirmations, and delivery schedules for assigned commodities.
  • Track open purchase orders, delivery schedules, and invoices, ensuring supplier compliance with quality, quantity, cost, and schedule commitments.
  • Drive cost savings through continuous improvement initiatives and engineering support.
  • Plan material requirements to maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete stock (E&O).
  • Routinely review and manage E&O inventory disposition.
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers to achieve favorable PPV within assigned commodities.
  • Comply with GMP, regulatory, ISO guidelines, and internal company policies.
  • Coordinate across departments to resolve material issues (quality, delivery) and implement changes to the supplier base; escalate critical supplier performance concerns to management.
  • Lead proof review and approval process for custom-printed components.
  • Manage communications with vendors regarding non-conforming products.
  • Review and confirm packaging sizing for all bottling materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
