About The Position

You will be the Material & Process Engr Sr for the Low Observable (LO) Materials engineering team which is responsible for advanced systems development, rapid prototyping, and material innovations within the historic Skunk Works program. What You Will Be Doing As the Material & Process Engr Sr you will be responsible for leading material‑focused engineering efforts that enable F‑22 production and sustainment while collaborating across multi‑disciplinary teams. Your responsibilities will include: Support the design, development, fabrication, and testing of low observable materials and systems in a hands‑on engineering environment. Plan and execute material development projects, including formulation, process development, test method creation, qualification, and scale‑up for production. Author material and process specifications and generate comprehensive lab reports documenting experiments and results. Interface with internal and external customers and coordinate with suppliers to resolve technical issues and advance material solutions. Drive manufacturing process development and scale‑up activities, ensuring smooth transition from lab to production. Who You Are You are a collaborative, results‑driven engineering professional with deep experience in low observable materials, including polymers, composites, thin films, and additive‑manufactured structures. You thrive in fast‑paced lab environments, possess strong analytical and documentation skills, and excel at communicating technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Further Information About This Opportunity MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

Requirements

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
  • Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or similar technical degrees.
  • Experience with aerospace materials (polymers, composites, metals, etc) - development, production, educational, and/or testing of materials.
  • Project Management experience and/or technical leadership experience within materials

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Lab Environment or previous experience working in a hands-on and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with electrical and magnetic behavior of materials.
  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, chemical material characterization techniques.
  • Experience with data analysis, review, compilation, and presentation.
  • Excellent technical documentation and writing skills for creating/revising material and process specifications, reports, and test plans.
  • Excellent teammate. Willing and able to work in a laboratory environment by themselves or with other team members
  • Experience with project planning and project management
  • Experience establishing, tracking, and maintaining deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to plan/coordinate lab activities
  • Experience building effective internal and external customer relationships
  • Advanced degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience preparing and delivering technical presentations to supporting teams and leadership
