Raytheon is seeking a Material Program Manager (MPM) that possesses strong leadership skills with demonstrated project management experience. The MPM is accountable to overall supplier management, performance and success. As the interface between Supply Chain, the Program Office/Integrated Product Team (IPT), supplier, and other functions working on both development and production contracts; this role is responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies and ensuring organizational and program objectives are achieved. Key responsibilities include supplier material management, material forecasting, ensuring cost and schedule requirements are met, creating metrics to monitor GSCM health, supplier assessments, and future proposal activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in supplier management, project management and/or program management.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the defense industry within the supply chain function
  • Experience purchasing assemblies for military applications
  • Experience using manufacturing or enterprise planning tools, including MRP (Kinaxis/ SAP/PRISM)

Responsibilities

  • Drive processes to successful completion in support of a very aggressive schedule of deliveries
  • Oversight of GSC proposal execution performance and reporting
  • MRP support and production alignment in support of Operations execution
  • Use critical thinking skills to propose sound and innovative business solutions to increase operational efficiencies to ensure business area and program success.
  • Must have the capability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Process information from multiple sources to achieve a successful outcome
  • Have the passion and desire for continuous learning
  • Identify/Generate material R&Os in alignment with program execution
  • Communicate and translate Program requirements to critical suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity, and risk.
  • Collect and analyze performance metrics and contribute to EAC reporting/performance.
  • Ensure supplier is supporting MRP, the MPP, and the MPS.
  • Develop and execute Risk/Opportunity plans to meet program responsibilities & proactively manage mitigation plans.
  • Monitor performance metrics and proactively address program and functional issues.
  • Act as key supplier and customer interface, including building Program and supplier relationships and leading weekly and quarterly engagements.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities within the supplier’s performance.
  • Facilitate necessary product and process changes through collaboration with suppliers and Engineering/Quality.
  • Facilitate resolution of product non-conformances.
  • Actively participate in program/engineering reviews and change boards.
  • Obtain MPM certification.
