Requirements

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Requires education generally equivalent to 4 years of high school and 3 to 6 months related experience in materials processing clerical duties.
  • SKILLS and ABILITIES REQUIRED Read and interpret simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively with company personnel and vendors concerning materials inventory related matters.
  • Perform basic calculations relating to inventory record keeping clerical duties.
  • Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions furnished in written and oral form.
  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with numbers are essential for successful work performance.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize.

Responsibilities

  • Check items received against items purchased in daily receiving.
  • Scan pack slips into computer and attaches to corresponding purchase order.
  • Make copies of special documents and file into job files.
  • Expedite purchase orders with vendors to meet required date on purchase order.
  • Check for Order Acknowledgements with the Vendors.
  • Advise production when there are significant delays.
  • Issue materials in accordance with bills of material specifications for the completion of work orders.
  • Add and adjust materials based on actual usage reported from stockrooms.
  • Obtain quotes from vendors and add new vendors to computer system.
  • Generate and enter routine purchase orders into the computer system.
  • Perform filing relating to the purchasing function.
  • Process the return of incorrect and/or defective materials for credit or replacement.
  • Responsible for keeping office supplies in stock and ordering special items, when needed.
  • Approve vendor invoices for payment in accordance with purchase order specifications.
  • Create new part numbers.
  • Create internal work orders for fabricated parts.
  • Perform clerical duties relating to maintaining physical inventory records.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
