About The Position

Element has an opportunity for a Materials Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. Salary: $20- $25/hr DOE

Requirements

• Must be US Citizen.
• Position requires security clearance plus clearance of 7 year background check and 10 panel drug screen.
• Self driven with excellent time management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous lab experience or NADCAP/ISO accreditation exposure is preferred.
• Experience with tensile, hardness, or other mechanical testing is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgical sectioning, mounting, polishing, and routine evaluations
• Evaluations include grain size, coating thickness, machining artefacts, hardness (ASTM E8, E18, E112, E384, E571)
• Possess the ability to work alone periodically throughout the work day requiring minimal oversite
• Ability to read and understand customer specifications and perform the testing required
• Able to develop a proven ability to set up and perform a variety of tests according to customer specifications under the supervision and technical input of Senior Engineer or Manager
