Primary Purpose: To support implementation of district math programs and initiatives (Pre-Kindergarten through fourth grade). Qualifications Education/Certification: Master’s Degree from an accredited university with curriculum required Valid Texas Teaching Certificate Elementary Certificate GT and ESL Certificate preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Working knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and staff development Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teacher effectiveness Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines and TEKS for K-4 Knowledge of best practices in development in math curriculum Knowledge of current research-based math instruction Experience: Five years successful elementary classroom teaching experience in math required Classroom experience at both primary and upper elementary levels preferred Experience with planning and presenting staff development presentations required Experience in development of math curriculum, instruction, and assessment programs required Working Conditions : Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
