About The Position

The Math Teacher will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive and engaging math curriculum, providing individualized instruction, and inspiring a love for mathematics among students. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for mathematics and a deep commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for high school students.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Technological proficiency for integrating technology into lessons.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
  • Committed to working with under-served students.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field
  • Appropriate state teaching certification or licensure.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Previous teaching experience, especially at the high school level, is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver effective math instruction, aligning with current educational standards, to meet the diverse needs of high school students.
  • Employ various teaching strategies to engage students and promote a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Develop and administer assessments to gauge student progress, provide constructive feedback, and track academic progress.
  • Identify students’ strengths and weaknesses in math, and provide additional support or differentiated instruction to help each student reach their full potential.
  • Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages active participation, fosters critical thinking, and ensures student safety.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians, including reporting on student progress and addressing concerns.
  • Stay current with the latest educational trends, methodologies, and teaching techniques to continuously improve your teaching skills.
  • Actively participate in or lead extracurricular math-related activities, such as math clubs, competitions, or tutoring.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the math department and other educators to share best practices and contribute to a cohesive educational environment.
  • Understand your responsibility to perform other job duties as assigned by leadership.
