About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer with expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to support critical Air Force initiatives. As a Journeyman Systems Engineer you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of military systems by defining system requirements, architectures, and interfaces through advanced modeling techniques. Using tools such as NoMagic Cameo Systems Modeler (CSM), the engineer will develop SysML-based models that serve as the foundation for system simulations and analysis. The position requires close collaboration with government stakeholders and cross-functional teams—including software, test, mechanical, and electrical engineers—to ensure alignment across all system domains. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and evolution of next-generation defense systems, ensuring they are robust, interoperable, and mission-ready.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship due to sensitive customer requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6–10 years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, test engineering, or a related field.
  • Additional 4 years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Active DoD TS clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
  • Experience working in a Security-Impacted (SIL) environment.
  • Proficiency in SysML, preferably using Cameo Systems Modeler or MagicDraw.
  • Strong communication skills—effective in both written and verbal interactions, including one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Defense/aerospace industry experience with military systems development.

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM or Kanban.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools including JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • OCSMP (OMG Certification for Systems Modeling Professionals).
  • Experience with executable SysML models and scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of MBSE frameworks such as MagicGrid.
  • Understanding of military Concept of Operations (CONOPS).

Responsibilities

  • Capture, decompose, and trace system-level requirements using MBSE practices.
  • Define, analyze, and refine system architectures and interfaces through SysML modeling.
  • Develop system structure and behavior models to support simulation and analysis.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Utilize MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo CSM) to maintain traceability and integrity across system elements.
  • Support system integration and verification activities through model-based approaches.
