The candidate will contribute to the profitability of the meat department through effectively maintaining consistent merchandising standards, quality product, and exceptional service to our customers. Upon successful completion of this program, candidates will be placed in a Fortinos location as a FT Meat Cutter. The program is up to 1 (one) year in duration and consists of the following: On-the-job training Training at various Fortinos locations by experienced and qualified trainers Feedback provided on personal progress via assessments Corporate Program. Requirements

  • Exceptional Customer Service skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team player
  • High regards for Health & Safety & process driven
  • A high regard for cleanliness
  • Strong initiative and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Physical manual labour required, heavy lifting, working in cold environment and able to stand for long periods of time
  • Be familiar and is in compliance with our Company Health and Safety Policies
  • Must be flexible to work a combination of shifts; including days, nights, evenings, and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Food Safety training would be an asset
  • Relevant past experience as it would be an asset, but not a must

Responsibilities

  • To receive, cut and prepare rail beef, veal, lamb and pork ensuring the quality of meat and cut complies with Company standards
  • To prepare meat on trays according to specifications in preparation for wrapping
  • To ensure that the safety and sanitation of the department meet with Company policies and standards
  • To serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner and respond to any customer inquiries, requests, and complaints
  • Travel required
  • To perform other duties as assigned
