About The Position

Curtze Food Service in Erie, PA, is seeking to hire a second-shift full-time meat packer/Trimmer. We operate a protein facility known as Specialty Steak Service. The full-time meat packer will efficiently package all meat products according to company standards in our USDA-inspected facility. This position requires bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above, reaching across, using repetitive motion, heavy lifting, and the ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours daily. The Packer Trimmer will be exposed routinely to adverse temperatures from cold 20-40° F, damp/wet, to freezing temperatures. In addition, this position requires the use of sharp cutting tools. Our ideal candidate will have relatable work experience and withstand a cool and freezing work environment. On-The-Job Training....no previous experience necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Math Skills
  • Ability to handle sharp cutting tool
  • Ability to stand for more than 8 hours, withstand cold temperatures, and lift heavy

Responsibilities

  • Conform to all relevant USDA standards as they apply to the position
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
  • Package meat and meat products according to company standards
  • Control the quality of products to conform to company standards
  • Maintain proper sanitary conditions, including cleaning and sanitizing all work surfaces, utensils, and equipment
  • Perform daily inspection checks of machinery, following all appropriate safety procedures
  • Perform other assigned duties as allocated by management
